for the record

If I could stumble onto the perfect man, he would:
a. make a mean mix CD
b. carry around impressive-looking contemporary novels
c. radiate friendliness
d. know when to listen to sentimentality and when to cut thru my crap
e. still remember how to do cartwheels
f. play an instrument or sing
g. understand the aesthetic appeal of ampersands
h. hum without realizing it
i. appreciate Nick Drake late at night
j. finger paint
k. have a best friend
l. actually find my sense of humor engaging
m. still swing on swingsets

And wow. I just realized I want a highly literate, quasi-musical 5 year old. Hrm...

You forgot "look really hot with facial hair." You know you want it!

I love the "have a best friend." Guys and their best friends are really fun to watch. And it means (says me, the expert) they're not anal-retentive about homosexuality (and sexuality in general) to the point of not being able to hang out with other guys. That's good.

Well, he came and went, my friend. And is now getting married to a gorgeous Scandinavian.

um, and as a comment about the previous comment from "bethylene," i have absolutely no idea what she's talking about. what guy doesn't have friends out of homophobia? it's the gay guys that have no male friends not the straight ones. where are yuo getting your information from? have you ever MET a guy?

Jake, that is one of the most beautifully egotistical male statements I've encountered in a long time. And trust me, you've got some stiff competition.

Not that there isn't some truth to it. Just, wow.

So uh... mazel tov!
